Wigs Up North: Manchester, United Kingdom; In 2004, Wigs Up North was launched in Manchester to fill a hole in the North of England for theatrical wig-making. However, it wasn't long before another gap needed to be filled. Customers that were hiring wigs began to request theatrical make-up and so in 2005 Wigs Up North branched out into selling make-up. Since then, the make-up side of the company has seen a rapid growth as demand has increased. Consequently, a variety of brands are available for sale such as Kryolan, Ben Nye and Make-Up International both in store and on-line. Wigs Up North is owned by three professionally trained make-up artists; Jackie Sweeney, Liz Armstrong and Vicky Holmes. Between them, all three partners have years of experience in television and theatre and have gained a strong reputation. As a result, Wigs Up North has won business awards for Most Promising New Business in the North West and also the New East Manchester All Stars Business Award.
